We recently collaborated with Bailey Nelson, a brand known for their stylish and affordable glasses. This Australian-born company has been expanding rapidly across Ontario. What stands out about Bailey Nelson is their commitment to working with local artists and showcasing their work in various forms.
Bailey Nelson commissioned Maed Studio to create a design for lens cloths, which would be given as a limited-time product with each purchase of glasses. One of the highlights of this collaboration was the creative freedom provided by Bailey Nelson, allowing the design to be both imaginative and unique.
Inspired by the brand's Australian roots, the design featured warm sandy tones, blues, and earthy greens, combined with abstract shapes resembling plants and birds. Although created digitally, the design aimed to have a soft, hand-drawn feel and was printed on a 15cm x 15cm soft cloth for cleaning glasses.
In addition to the product design, we were invited to do a live painting activation for the grand opening of Bailey Nelson's new store at The Well. The painting echoed the lens cloth design and was later installed as a permanent piece in the store.
This project was truly a dream collaboration for us. Working with the Bailey Nelson team was a fantastic experience, and Maed Studio is thrilled to have contributed a piece of art to their brand and store.
