The experience center at YZD has been transformed into a vibrant masterpiece, thanks to Maed Studio’s stunning, expansive mural.
Northcrest Development enlisted Maed Studio to craft a striking mural on the front façade of their building at YZD, formerly known as Downsview Airport.
As YZD evolves into a vibrant art hub, it is gradually transforming its buildings to showcase a diverse range of murals by Toronto’s most innovative artists, each contributing to the area’s creative energy.
Designed and painted by Vanessa of Maed Studio, the mural "Sprouting Joy" draws inspiration from native florals, inviting viewers into a space that beautifully celebrates the harmony between nature and urban life.
This expansive blank canvas has been brought to life with vibrant colors, nature-inspired themes, and bold, oversized shapes, instantly sparking joy and creativity in all who encounter it.
To ensure long-lasting vibrancy, a bonding aluminum primer was first applied to the metal surfaces, followed by a high-quality latex exterior paint designed for aluminum. The result is a durable and striking mural that will continue to captivate for years to come.
